Teurastamo will once again celebrate the Christmas season in a variety of ways this year.
Teurastamo will host a variety of events during the week leading up to Christmas, and the week will culminate on December 21–22, when—in addition to the traditional Christmas market—three other sales events will take over the area.
Teurastamo Christmas features a wide range of music, culinary delights, art, and activities for all ages. During the week leading up to Christmas, the area will host, among other things, karaoke, mulled wine tastings and a mulled wine competition, a family-friendly disco, and a Christmas sauna heated in the evenings.
The Christmas Market is a celebration of small producers
On the weekend of December 21–22, the traditional Teurastamo Christmas Markets will bring together domestic and international small producers from various sectors. Participants range from artists to clothing brands, cosmetics entrepreneurs, and food vendors. The event takes place across various venues in the area, including Kellohalli, Palema, and the Teurastamo courtyard.
The event is aimed at anyone looking for Christmas spirit, gift ideas, or unique experiences. Pets have also been included in the offerings, as the dry food manufacturer Hau Nau will be on site.
The food selection ranges from more traditional Christmas dishes to more exotic options. For example, Raclette Bistro—a street food kitchen serving Swiss raclette cheese dishes—is open daily.
New this year: alternative vendors
On Saturday and Sunday, the market will host the Palema Design and Art Christmas, featuring items such as art ceramics, books, and various works of art. DTM, which operates in the Teurastamo area, is organizing Finland’s first HLBTIQXmas Christmas market, which is aimed at HLBTIQ+ people and their friends.
Another new event is the pagan Christmas market at Huuhaa Astro Bar & Bistro Huuhaa Astro Bar & Bistro, which opened in the summer of 2024, will host a pagan Christmas market on Sunday, December 22.
