A new café opened on Verkkosaarenkatu in November 2024.
How did the café get its start?
Our café was born out of a passion to create a place where people can experience genuinely warm and flexible customer service, feel at home, and can enjoy high-quality pastries, specialty coffees, and beverages at reasonable prices. We want to create a place where it’s easy to stop by, even if it’s just for a cup of coffee. We’re a family-owned business, and we run it as a family—this is how we’re able to keep our promises regarding customer service and the quality of our selection.
Why did you choose Kalasatama and that specific location?
Kalasatama has long been the ideal location for our café, but the high rent has been a problem. Another of our criteria was finding a brick-and-mortar location. The café’s current location is perfect: the proximity to the sea and the beauty of the canal create an ideal environment for relaxation and leisure, both in summer and winter. In the summer, our terrace offers a wonderful setting for visitors. The proximity to the canal also makes it possible, for example, to enjoy a takeaway coffee by the water.
What is the best thing about the Kalasatama area from a business perspective?
Kalasatama is a constantly evolving neighborhood where new residents and urban life blend together in a charming way. The area’s energetic and warm atmosphere immediately drew us in. We want to be part of the area’s growth and development.

What are the café’s plans for the future?
We want to expand our menu to include a variety of breakfast options and soups. We may implement these changes soon, but no later than spring 2025.
We want to continuously improve and develop our offerings, and I believe that over time, based on the feedback we receive, we’ll be able to tailor the café’s offerings to meet our customers’ wishes. Customer satisfaction is our top priority.
