Housing Company Introduction
Completed in the summer of 2015, Asunto Oy Helsingin Kotisatama is located in Kalasatama, on the edge of a park and near the sea. This community-oriented apartment building with 63 units is neither a service residence nor a nursing home, but rather a home for those who believe in the power of working together. Architect Kirsti Siven has incorporated Kalasatama’s history into the building’s exterior and the elegant harmony of its interiors.
The eight-story building offers opportunities for a variety of activities and for getting to know your neighbors: a community sauna with a fireplace room, a dining room, a library, and a recreation room all facilitate shared experiences. The building also features a communal laundry room, a drying room, and a guest room. In this community-oriented building, each resident commits to keeping the common areas tidy and preparing a communal meal during their assigned work week.
The metro station is just a five-minute walk from the building.
