PROJECT TO CREATE COMMUNAL CLUBROOMS LAUNCHED

Providing shared community spaces for Kalasatama residents is one of the four service concepts of the service companies. Service companies in the area will provide shared community spaces within their respective operating areas in tandem with the development of Kalasatama through the late 2030s. The goal is to collaborate across service companies to create a diverse, comprehensive system that serves residents in a variety of ways, combining spaces designed for different uses with various implementation approaches.

The first community space will emphasize versatility, flexibility, and adaptability. Once basic needs have been met, future spaces can incorporate design solutions more specifically tailored to particular purposes. Implementation methods may range from self-construction to purchasing or renting ready-made spaces.

In the development of community club spaces, the focus is on involving residents and listening to their input. As part of the needs assessment now underway, a survey is being conducted to identify the wishes of residents and local stakeholders. As the project progresses, efforts will be made to keep residents informed at all key stages, and, if necessary, additional resident input will be sought through surveys, interviews, or resident meetings.

Communication regarding the project will primarily take place through the Fisuverkko neighborhood portal, but we will also seek to utilize social media channels familiar to Kalasatama residents.
