The construction site for Horisontti, the fifth high-rise building in the Kalasatama Towers complex, will be fenced off starting March 27, 2023—pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be rerouted to the west side of Hermannin rantatie.

Fencing of the construction site for Horisontti, the fifth high-rise building in the Kalasatama Towers complex, will begin on March 27, 2023, which will cause changes to pedestrian and bicycle traffic on Hermannin rantatie, as both pedestrians and cyclists will be directed to use the western side of Hermannin rantatie. The western entrance to the REDI shopping center will remain open as usual, and it can still be accessed from the Kalasatama metro station as before. The pedestrian route through the Fööni pedestrian tunnel will also remain open.

These changes will remain in effect for the duration of the Horisont construction project, and information regarding their removal will be provided closer to the time when the arrangements are restored to their previous state. Horisont is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2025. Information on temporary traffic arrangements and other current updates can also be found on the Horisont construction site pages at: https://www.srv.fi/tyomaat/2721-horisontti/

The Horisont construction site will not cause any changes to vehicle routes. Please note that a tram line running from Kalasatama to Pasila is being built on Hermannin rantatie, which will also cause changes to traffic in the area. You can read about the impacts of the Kalasatama–Pasila tramway project on local traffic on the project’s website: https://www.kalasatamastapasilaan.fi/ajankohtaista
