Located in Kalasatama’s car-free neighborhood, the Hitas-funded apartments in Studio-talo are inspired by loft-style living. Not all apartments have a typical room layout. The apartments have higher ceilings than usual and the spaces feel spacious.
Studio promotes a car-free lifestyle, and there are no parking spaces for residents in the block at all. However, parking spaces for car-sharing vehicles are located nearby. Instead, 179 indoor storage spaces have been provided for bicycles, and the shared bicycle parking areas in the courtyards have been sized so that the total bicycle parking capacity is 4.97 spaces per apartment. Separate spaces have been set aside for strollers and walkers.
Planters enhance the appeal of the rooftop terraces intended for residents’ use. The architecture of the facade aims to create a subtle environment that avoids a sense of detachment.
