The popular restaurant opened a second location in Verkkosaari, Kalasatama, in late spring 2024.
Treffi has expanded its operations and opened a second location in Capellanranta, alongside its restaurant in Herttoniemi. Treffi is known for its diverse and ever-changing selection of food and drinks.
The Verkkosaari restaurant, which operates in the former premises of the seafood restaurant Muikea Muikku, features a spacious terrace in addition to its indoor seating.
Sandra Solomon, restaurant manager at Treff in Verkkosaari explains that the new location in Verkkosaari was chosen, among other reasons, because Treff representatives noticed that local residents wanted a local restaurant that stays open late. The Verkkosaari residential area has also developed rapidly in recent years, which was a major draw.
“Kalasatama and Verkkosaari are rapidly growing areas, and we have strong confidence in the potential of this location,” he says.
The hugely popular Herttoniemi restaurant is getting a new chapter
Treffi operated for a long time as a traditional pub near the Herttoniemi metro station until it was reimagined as a bistro. Herttoniemi’s Treffi, operating under the new concept, opened at the end of 2014, and the restaurant has since been expanded even further.
The restaurant, which has gained immense popularity, has since cemented its place in the hearts of residents in eastern Helsinki. Praised especially for its burgers, the restaurant has repeatedly been voted among Helsinki’s best burger spots, and its steady growth has now led to new premises just a couple of metro stops away.

An attractive location by the sea
Feedback on the new restaurant has been extremely positive during its first few weeks. “Many have especially praised the fact that there are only a few dinner restaurants in this area. Our customers from Herttoniemi have also found their way to Verkkosaari, but it’s been wonderful to welcome so many completely new customers,” Solomon notes.
The Verkkosaari menu is very similar to the one in Herttoniemi, but the à la carte dishes feature more maritime flavors, according to the restaurant. The new restaurant is also accessible by boat, which is unique in Helsinki. A special “Sail In” menu, as well as the option to order food in advance. The dishes are brought directly to the boat.
“We also noticed that we have a lot of families with children visiting us, so we do our best to cater to children and families both in menu planning and in creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, we serve everyone from babies to seniors,” Solomon says.
In the summer, you can also find Treffi at various events: in the summer of 2024 Treffi on the Road tours Finnish festivals, serving up its signature dishes from food trucks.
