As usual, the Night of the Arts will take place throughout Helsinki in late summer. The Kalasatama area will also offer a variety of artistic experiences, ranging from short films to dance and gallery exhibitions.
Art takes over Kalasatama on August 15. Highlights of the evening include the following:
Teurastamo’s Night of the Arts: Night of Short Films
Teurastamo will host the short film event that proved so popular last year. Attendees will get to enjoy short films produced by Teurastamo’s own production companies. Antti Reini will perform with his guitar, and filmmakers will also be on hand to discuss their work.
Teurastamo’s restaurants will provide the food. The program begins at 8:00 p.m.

Art workshop at Galleria Huudo and a nighttime gallery tour
Galleria Huudossa is hosting a collaborative art project on the Night of the Arts, and participants of all ages are welcome to join in the creation. In the workshop, participants will create items such as plants, flowers, and leaves using recycled materials.
In addition, a special nighttime guided tour of the area’s galleries will depart from Galleria Huudo at 9:00 p.m. We recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothing.

Planet Suvilahti: A Diverse Mix of Art and Entertainment
The Planet Suvilahti event is once again being held in the heart of the Kalasatama district. Organized by the Suvilahtelaiset Association and the tenants of Suvilahti, Planet Suvilahti offers a wide range of artistic experiences. In previous years, the program has included dance, visual arts, circus performances, and culinary experiences.

Flux – a flying dance performance
At the Fööni Free Flight Tunnel, nestled in the heart of Redi, experience an artistic wind tunnel adventure approached through the medium of dance. The choreography combines acrobatics and wind tunnel flight in a unique way.
Three performances will be held during the evening: 7:00–7:30 p.m., 8:00–8:30 p.m., and 9:00–9:30 p.m.
