The Talas community clubhouse opened its doors in early April. The space will be finalized during April, and the restaurant is currently scheduled to open on May Day.
Kalasatama’s first community club Talas is now open. Construction was completed in early spring 2026. 1. The grand opening held in April drew a large crowd of nearly 500 people.
The majority of the visitors, who ranged in age, were local residents, and a group from the Kalasatama daycare center was also in attendance. The building manager and property manager were also present at the event to welcome the visitors.
Program and tour of the building
The opening ceremony featured a performance by violinist and singer Markus Saloa and his band. Catering was provided by Flavour Ventures, which will serve as Talas’s restaurant operator going forward.
During the event, attendees were briefed on how to use the facility reservation system and had their questions answered. The facilities are now available for booking by resident communities and anyone else interested.
Feedback on the completed facilities has been positive. In addition to a restaurant and a sauna, Talas features multipurpose spaces suitable for parties and all kinds of leisure activities. Its design takes into account all user groups, from children to the elderly.
Furnishing continues
Preparations for the restaurant’s opening are underway throughout April, and it is scheduled to open its doors to everyone on May Day. A naming contest was held for the restaurant, which received over 200 entries. The final name will be announced soon.
The fitting out of the Talas premises will be completed by the end of Week 17. The restaurant will provide its own information regarding its operations and hours of operation.
Talas is located at the corner of Koksikatu and Parrulaituri, at Koksikatu 12.
